Like cold water to a weary soul,  so is good news from a distant land.
Prov. 25:25

What a joy to get to bring good news from a distant land with the gogos last week!  Our famous missionary Julie Anderson invited me to share with them at their regular Thursday Bible study and sewing co-op gathering.  These faithful women are still hard at work cooking, chasing children, and sewing.  They truly remain the champions of Swaziland.

What was the good news that we shared?  It was simple.  I last met with these women one and a half years ago.  And now, one and a half years later, our God is still a God that we can trust!

Time passes, the years come and go.  God remains the same.  We can sit and talk about life and death, marriage and divorce, sickness and health, feast and famine, laughter and tears, and in it all we serve a God who we can trust.  When we are weak, we can trust Him.  When we are worried or afraid, we can trust Him.  When our circumstances are difficult and painful, we can trust Him.  This is truly good news and it is the cold water that refreshes the weary soul.

TRUST (take refuge, be confident, be sure, be bold, be secure, make to hope) in the LORD forever, for in God the LORD, we have an everlasting rock.
Isa. 26:4

It is better to TRUST (flee for protection) in the LORD than to trust in man or princes.
Ps 118:8

Put your TRUST (belief) in the LORD your God, and you will be established (built up, supported).
2 Chron. 20:20

  1. Great to hear from you guys. Hope you are doing well. Looking forward to seeing you when you return. Will continue praying for you and Swaziland. Wish I could be there. Hope God will send me there some day.

  2. Thanks for sharing, Marcia. And thanks to you and Scott for your faithful service to our Lord. You constantly encourage me. I think both you and Scott should consider writing a devotional book with all your stories and real life applications…very similar to a book I have called “Mercy Beyond Measure” by Kurt Salerno. Give the gogos a hug from me – they are amazing.
