We are rejoicing at the way that God brought so much encouragement to the 90 women who attended the women’s retreat last weekend! It was a mix of women from Nsoko and from Ngculwini who had not met each other before. They are all cooks among 17 different carepoints who feed about 1600 children every day. They are also the women of Timbali Crafts who sew beautiful handbags and table runners. These women are a joy to spend time with!
The weekend was filled with much worship and a lot of dancing. We played silly games and had great prizes. We laughed so hard at times that our bellies ached and tears streamed down both Swazi and American faces! The women all had their blood pressure checked and made lovely fleece scarves which they wrapped around their heads in the cool of the evening. We gave a prize for the oldest gogo who was Ruby at 79! We enjoyed each woman making a timeline of their life story and sharing them in small groups and taking time to pray for each one around their circle. We had teaching sessions that focused on our new life in Christ and the way we get to die to old ways and put on the ways of Christ. We had a fabulous testimony by a Swazi lady who brought so much truth and hope to us all. The food was plentiful and new friendships were formed. Heavy loads were lifted for each woman and the joy and presence of the Lord filled the room. By Sunday the women had time to share what the weekend had meant for them. It was beautiful to see how the Lord had met them and encouraged them. You could literally see spirits lifted and changed faces. Thank you Lord! Thanks to everyone who prayed for the funding and preparations for this weekend. Thanks for praying us through it. What an honor it has been for me to share life with these incredible Swazi women. I truly love them all. Enjoy the pictures and please pray for these ladies!
