Precious in the sight of the LORD
Is the death of His godly ones.

Psalm 116:15

Today marks the day that Sarah Buller’s life is honored and celebrated by her parents, brothers and sisters, friends, and relatives.  Today is the day of her funeral back home in Minnesota.

Sarah died in a car accident in Port Elizabeth, South Africa last week.  She was one of AIM’s First Year Missionaries living in South Africa since last fall.  She would have turned 19 last Wednesday, the day of her South African Memorial Service.

Scott and I were honored to serve as liason’s for Sarah’s parents in Port Elizabeth.  We arrived the day after the accident and spent the rest of the week there working out logistics and ministering to her team and her leaders.  The pain of such a loss is indescribable.

I did not know Sarah but I know that she was a young woman full of life and love for others. Her smile was contagious.  She brought life into a room and into many hearts.  She answered the call of God to follow Him and serve “the least of these” in Africa.  She did it with great joy.

Though the timing of her life is a mystery to me, I celebrate today with Dwight and Peggy Buller, God’s work in and through their daughter Sarah’s life. And I thank Him that He is her home.

Would you please take a minute to pray for the Buller family?  They are amazing faith-filled people who are reaching out to others even in the middle of their mourning.  But I know they loved their precious Sarah and I know that their grief is real and that it runs deep.
